i'm melanie--

i'm fairly certain there's a secret oligarchy of miniscule beings within my brain, organizing and arranging and deciding and planning all of those disconcertingly confusing and complicated things that are expelled from my mouth and released in the swirls of my pen. i wish they'd occasionally clue me in as to what goes on during their secret executive meetings, but alas, the part of me that wonders is one and the same with the part of me that is kept blissfully naive.

be careful what you wish for, for we too often become entangled in the dreams that others have foisted upon us.

i took a bite of the sandwich--for its exterior looked delicious--only to discover its secret; the inside was a fragile construction of mold.

i'd like to think that it is all going to be alright, and persistent beliefs have a tendency to restructure one's reality.
